one more week

Not only to see but to experience the work of God in a very real way is a magnificent part of being a Christian.  To trust and to know that God is at work and to place complete confidence in Him simply seeking to be His instrument in this life is such an amazing aspect of faith.

The very Gospel message itself floors me!  What our Father grants to us in Christ, and not only the salvation but the relationship that He extends to us through the cross and resurrection of Jesus, is such an awe-inspiring portrait of the wonderful God we serve.  And then, just as amazing is that He works through us!  Often in spite of us.  The redemptive work of God made manifest in Christ continues to be revealed in the hearts and lives of those who belong to Him.

Words can only begin to express the anticipation Tiersa and I have in beginning this new, exciting, potential-filled chapter with you next Sunday.  So many of you have already blessed us and encouraged us in countless ways.  (I am however a little concerned that Tiersa is getting tons more friend requests on Facebook that I am – ha!).  Your warmth and love and kindness and insight into the Kingdom have been evident at every turn in what we have experienced with you.  Our family is so extremely excited about partnering with you and in what God is doing in Tyler and in the world through the West Erwin Church of Christ!

As I type this I am sitting in a sea of boxes.  Who knew we had so much stuff to pack up?  Know that we are elated to come and to be a part of what God is doing, and what He has in store, at West Erwin.

Paul writes these words to a church he anticipates coming to and ministering to, “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong – that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith” (Romans 1:11-12).  Our hope and our prayer are as we become a part of the family of God at West Erwin, that we may be mutually encouraged by one another’s faith, that God would be honored, and that others would come to know the overwhelming reality of knowing Jesus Christ as Lord through who we are and what we are about as we minister together.

Glory to God!

Jason
